ASHA Annual Meeting & Education Day
January 15-17, 2027

Welcome Reception – January 15, 2027
Refreshments at the Hampton Inn from 5-7pm
Tally Ho Shires will be hosting farm tours and Shire-drawn Trolley rides on the afternoon of the 15th, 2027 starting at 1pm.
Please RSVP to Kim at 970-618-3223 or thshire@sopris.net if you would like to attend. Rides will depart every 45 minutes with farm tours to follow. It will be winter, so dress accordingly, but we provide blankets on the trolley ride.
ASHA Annual Education Day

Where: Garfield County Fairgrounds Indoor Arena in Rifle, CO
Time: 9am – 4 pm with lunch included
Cost: $50/ASHA member
$100/non-ASHA member
Any youth 16 and under FREE with a paying adult.

- Conformation Judging of Shires by an accredited judge
- Ridden Shire demo
- Starting young Shires in Harness
- Shires used in therapy situations
- Prepping a Shire for show and maintenance

The drive to Rifle takes roughly 50 to 60 minutes via I-70 West. Offers seasonal commercial flights.
2. Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT): Located in Grand Junction, CO, about 61 to 65 miles west
of Rifle. The drive to Rifle takes about 1 hour straight down I-70 headed East. Offers full commercial
service.
3. Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ): Located in Montrose, CO. The drive to Rifle would be about 1
hour and 52 minutes north to GJ and then east to Rifle. Offers full commercial service.
4. Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE): Located about 61 to 67 miles southeast of Rifle (approx. 1 hour
to 1 hour 15 minutes drive to Rifle) near Aspen, CO.
5. Denver International Airport (DIA) is 202 miles from Rifle, CO, which takes about 3 hours and 16
minutes to drive over 2 mountain passes (Loveland and Vail pass) which in the wintertime can be
tricky.
**Amtrak train service into Glenwood Springs, CO. Glenwood is 15 minutes from Rifle, CO. Pick-ups could be arranged.
